Margaret E Ward shortlisted for Image Business Awards Social Entrepreneur of the Year.

Women on Air are delighted to announce Founder and Chair, Margaret E Ward, has been shortlisted for Image Business Awards Social Entrepreneur of the Year.

Margaret has made great strides in Irish society towards improving gender equality throughout the airwaves. In 2010, she founded WOA and since then moved the esteemed organization forward from strength to strength.

WOA has since held dozens of seminars with top female leaders such as Dr. Rhona Mahony, Keelin Shaley and Dearbhail McDonald but to name a few. Last May the group held the Inaugural WOA Conference in Dublin Castel, a media training day for females in RTE and since inception has produced a practical tool and proactive solution to solve the gender gap –The List. The List holds names of hundreds of women experts who are willing to speak on air provided free to media outlets around the countries.

She is a champion for women and strong female roll model for generations to come. Margaret will be competing in the Social Entrepreneurship category with five other female finalists including Mairead Healy, executive director and founder, Future Voices Ireland and Denise Charlton, CEO, The Immigrant Council of Ireland.
